Nicole Phiri Psychology and Economics

Nicole Phiri is a sophomore studying Psychology and Economics, with a persistent fascination for the French language. She is drawn to platforms that connect people across cultures, which has led her to join Emory International Council, an organisation that fosters cultural exchange among students across Emory’s nine schools. Nicole is an Advising Fellow with Emory Matriculate, where she supports and mentors highachieving, lowincome high school students as they navigate the college application process. She is also involved in the Emory Scholars Program and ResLife. She aspires to pursue a career in the non-profit or policy sector and hopes her time at Emory will deepen her understanding of how improving psychological well-being and mental health at the individual level can drive broader economic growth, particularly in her home country of Zimbabwe. In her free time, Nicole enjoys listening to music of all genres, reading and dancing.
