ETSI is an impactful Emory legacy, an ongoing collaboration with the Dalai Lama and his Tibetan Buddhist monastic institutions. Two of the leaders of ETSI are in the ILA: Mark Risjord and Arri Eisen; in addition, many IDS students have participated in the undergraduate summer program that runs in parallel to ETSI.
