For Faculty
Sidecar Courses
An innovative curricular project initiated and coordinated by the IDEAS fellowship, sidecar courses unite two faculty members from various departments and disciplines to conduct a brief interdisciplinary course centered around a common theme.
Interdisciplinary Teaching Fellow
This opportunity provides a full time Emory College faculty member with a full academic year immersed in the ILA, engaging in innovative and inclusive interdisciplinary practices in and out of the classroom. The Fellow will be released from teaching and service responsibilities in the home department.
LINC Courses
This initiative leverages existing courses offerings by preparing faculty pairs from different disciplines to create points of intersection, or links, between two courses that encourage a diverse range of perspectives and thus lead to a more inclusive classroom.
For Graduate Students
IDEAS Graduate Teaching Fellow
The awardee will be a current PhD student in a LGS humanities program whose work focuses on the Americas. The fellow will be asked to teach AMST 201: Introduction to American Studies, and help facilitate the undergraduate IDEAS (Interdisciplinary Exploration and Scholarship) Fellowship.
Crossroads Courses
Crossroads courses are team-taught by two graduate instructors approaching a specific question, issue or problem from an interdisciplinary perspective. These courses are developed out of the annual Empowering Interdisciplinary Teaching & Scholarship graduate workshop.
Empowering Interdisciplinarity Workshop
Participation in this workshop will enhance a student’s own professional development, and provide opportunities to develop new interdisciplinary courses that will continue to enhance their ongoing trajectories.
Robertson Graduate Fellow in Science & Society
The awardee, a current PhD student in any LGS program, will work with the faculty in the ILA to both facilitate a pre-existing course and develop new projects and programs, building on the fellow’s own research interests, that integrate across the sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts.
