Writing Manual

The ILA is committed to the principle that writing skills are directly linked to skills of understanding and interpretation. All 200-level W courses in the ILA (AMST and IDS) carry a co-requisite of ENG 223 Rhetorical Grammar, where students receive structured writing instruction.

We have also developed Writing Resources, used by instructors in our courses, which focuses on common writing problems. The errors explained in this downloadable document correspond to marks you will likely receive on your papers. Further resources can be found at Purdue’s OWL.
