John Wang is a Senior from Marietta, Georgia, double majoring in Economics/Mathematics and Quantitative Sciences. His specific academic interests include behavioral economics, social psychology, inequality, and education. John is writing an honors thesis on education inequality in Georgia through the Economics department. He has been a part of the IDEAS Fellowship since his Sophomore year. As part of IDEAS, John has developed an Arts Research Symposium, facilitated story circles, served as a TA for an integrated biology and dance side-car course, organized Take a Professor to Lunch, and created programming for Turman residents as the IDEAS Fellow in Residence. Outside of IDEAS, he is President of Emory’s Data Science Club where he focuses not only on building resources for members but also partnering with non-profits to work on data projects. After graduating from Emory in May (hopefully), he plans to teach in the public education system and eventually pursue a PhD in Education Policy.
