Akshar Patel is a sophomore in Emory College majoring in Biology and Religion. He splits his time between clinical research in the School of Medicine and the Inter-Religious Council. Through these two activities, Akshar combines his two distinct disciplines to immerse himself in the interdisciplinary experience. In addition, he volunteers on the weekends at the local BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu mandir (house of worship), where he mentors the younger students to build a better version of themselves. In his spare time, Akshar enjoys reading dystopian fiction and trying new foods.
