Maggie Mang is a senior double majoring in philosophy and biology. She worked in the K. D. Wilkinson Lab in the Department of Biochemistry from 2014 to 2016, where her research focused on yeast protein prions and aggregations as it relates to mammalian diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Huntington’s. She is currently writing an honors thesis on the philosophy of medicine, specifically focusing on instances of physician distress and how topics such as virtue theory, power dynamics, and the hidden educational curriculum plays into cases of distress. Outside of IDEAS, Maggie has been heavily involved in ResLife as well as several undergraduate research programs.
