Miranda Jimmerson is a second-year student in Emory College majoring in both International Studies (with a concentration in political economy) and French. She is interested in the economic and political circumstances surrounding global poverty. Miranda believes that IDEAS promotes the kind of interdisciplinary thinking and discourse that is necessary to address the world's most pressing problems. Apart from her majors, Miranda's passions range from music and culture (on the executive teams of the French Club and Emory's gospel choir, VOIS) to serving the underserved (as a summer volunteer for the Red Cross and through involvement in Glenn Memorial's Snack in a Backpack). She is also currently an intern with Brothers for Peace, a nonprofit founded by Emory alumni.
