Alida Haworth is a senior majoring in political science, with a minor in economics. During her time at Emory, Alida has co-led a weekly social justice trip to Men Stopping Violence. The Atlanta-based organization works to end male violence against women by focusing on areas such as gender, class and race. Alida spent a summer studying abroad in Argentina and a semester in New York studying international politics and interning at UNICEF. She was drawn to the IDEAS Fellowship as it represented a space to appreciate and enhance the opportunities created by an interdisciplinary education. The group also offers a way for students and faculty from a diverse range of disciplines to come together and share their love of learning.
