Claire Barnes is a sophomore in the College, pursuing a joint major in Religion and Philosophy, as well as a minor in Sustainability. Claire is passionate about food justice and environmental policy, and would like to apply these interests to a career in law. Throughout her time at Emory, she has invested her energy into reviving the Slow Food movement on campus and enriching the first-year experience through her work with Residence Life and Housing. Claire is involved in undergraduate research through the Scholarly Inquiry and Research Program at Emory (SIRE) and serves as a siting member of Emory's Sustainable Food Committee. Claire also has an expressed interest in interdisciplinary film studies, and currently serves as a Student Juror for the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival. In the IDEAS Fellowship, Claire works on Professors at Kaldis Getting Coffee, co-manages social media outreach, and serves as a teaching assistant for a side-car course on water resource management. After graduation, Claire hopes to continue her liberal arts education through the study and practice of law.
